RÍO ROJO
INTERIOR DESIGN CAPSTONE
BY GRACE PECHA
A MOUNTAIN RETREAT
CONCEPT STATEMENT
Through the use of local materials and landscape inspiration, Río Rojo creates a connection between the interior space and exterior surroundings. The space consists of a variety of areas designed to bring people together and promote socialization and relaxation in a tranquil setting. Río Rojo provides a luxurious hotel experience that has the intimacy of home, but the security, amenities, and convenience of a hotel. A home away from home.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A boutique hotel in the Steamboat Springs Ski Resort in Colorado. The space consists of a main lobby, a restaurant, a spa, a lounge, and seven luxury rooms that are complete with a balcony overlooking the surrounding mountains. This hotel is intended for adults looking to have a high-end ski vacation right on the mountain with breathtaking views. With the wide gap in accommodation options in this resort (large hotels and rental condos) there is a need for a more intimate hotel option that offers privacy, yet the opportunity to meet people and socialize if desired.

Both levels have lots of windows to maximize natural light as well as the amazing views from every direction.
THE LOBBY & WAITING AREA
Upon entrance into the hotel, you are greeted by a central reception desk and a large, dramatic staircase that leads to the suites. The waiting room is off to the left and offers a comfortable place to wait before checking in.
